I don't get comments e-mailed to me. Ever. EVER. So if you said something important or asked me a question and I didn't answer, I'm not ignoring you, I just don't know about it. So message me or leave me a comment here plz.

"We'd gone in search of the American dream... it had been a lame fuckaround, a waste of time. There was no point in looking back, fuck no, not today thank you kindly."

it's a work in progress so bear with me

I do run a small writing company. I have hired people from Livejournal to do freelance work from home in the past, and even one person to work in the actual office. But, a lot of people ask me if they can have a job, and I can't hire everyone. So instead, all I ask is that if you want to apply, you apply through the company website - WordSoup.org. There is an option at the bottom that says "Careers" that you can click on, and it will tell you if we are currently hiring and let you know what the qualifications. If we are, then you can submit your resume and information, and I can tell you that I personally review all applications and make the final decisions, so I will let you know from there. If not, you can still submit your resume, but I do not usually review those resumes - someone in human resources will, and will let me know if someone is worth looking into.

If you have questions about what I do, or you want advice on how to start your own company, or get into freelance writing on your own, I would be more than happy to answer. If you leave me a comment randomly on LJ, I probably won't get it, because I don't have comments e-mailed to me. However, you are more than welcome to send me a message, or leave a comment in my journal, which I am far more likely to read. All I ask if that you don't inquire about a writing job on LJ, and that you don't hold it against me if you aren't hired. You may not have the right skills, or I genuinely may not have room for you no matter how awesome you are. It's not personal, I promise.

I am a sister, a daughter, a wife and a mother. I went to college so that makes me smart. I'm a stay-at-home mum, so that means I'm wasting my degree.

I was born in Cill Chainnigh, Eire (or Kilkenny, Ireland, for you Americans) which is a county town in Leinster. That means I'm not British. I'm Irish. And no, I don't have a cool accent :\ I sound like someone from Ireland who has been living in the states for 10 years.

My family moved back and forth between Cill Chainnigh and Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, when I was young, presumably because my parents like to make us miserable. We eventually settled in London for a few years before my mother decided it was time to move to the states. Now, I live in Philadelphia.

We had a baby back in January who is now almost a year old. Even though I never thought I'd have children, he is hands down the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. He changed my entire outlook on life, and because of him, I made some choices in life that I would have never considered otherwise. I think I'm about the only person who can say having a baby made us MORE money than we had before we got pregnant.

I used to work for other people, but I quit to stay home with the baby. Eventually, I got bored with not working. I love to write, and I started a little writing company in my spare time. Now I get to work whenever I want to from home, and in the last year, I've made way I did working a regular office job. Crazy, right?
